Here at the monastery we are aware of the pandemic, and the illness and deaths it has unexpectedly brought on. This can be strong medicine for us as practitioners, a reminder of the fleeting nature and value of all human life, a reminder to use our time well, to demonstrate compassion and wisdom.
Therefore, as an additional support at this time, Ven. Dhammadipa will be offering online metta (kindness) and karuna (compassion) meditations. These sessions are a simple way to gather together with others from the Aloka Vihara community.
Guided meditations will be available on Thursdays at 4:00 pm Pacific US time, beginning March 26th. The meeting will open Thursdays at 3:30 pm, so that you can connect and talk with each other as much or as little as you like. Ven. Dhammadipa will join by 4:00 pm, offering only the guided meditation, without any additional interaction since she is still on retreat. The meditation will be about 20 or 30 minutes in length, and you can stay online meditating with the group until the meeting ends around 4:45.
