Visiting the Vihara
The vihara is a monastic residence for women training and practicing in the Theravada Forest Tradition. It is also a place for men, women and the community at large to visit and take part in daily monastic life.
Attending Regularly Scheduled Events
The nuns warmly welcome you to join them for pujas and other regularly scheduled vihara events. Please check the ongoing events page for more information.
Visiting for the Day
On weekends when the nuns are in residence, you are welcome to visit for the day. There are many opportunities to help out with cooking, gardening and other projects. You can also spend time going for walks, reading and meditating in our shrine room. Please email us at <email@example.com> to arrange a visit and check our things to consider page prior to coming.
We also welcome overnight guests. There is space for up to three women guests in a separate building with a dormitory. A sense of privacy is created with the use of room dividers. Our comfortable trailer is a private space, available for individual use by men or transgender people. The minimum duration for staying at the vihara is one week. We ask guests to arrive between Wednesdays and Sundays, from 8 am to 6 pm, please contact us at <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
If you wish to come for a shorter visit, there are local accommodations in driving distance.
