Aloka Vihara community safely evacuated to Sacramento

This morning, August 17th, we had a mandatory evacuation order and are now at Sacramento Dharma Center. We are appreciative of the friends who received us here. The evacuation went smoothly and we able to do some protective measures for the vihara before departing. We are well and safe. The alarm of the birds and the concern of the mother deer and her fawn just before we left touched the heart, as so many things happening in the world are touching it. May all beings be safe.  May we practice for liberation.  May we act with compassion.

Yesterday, I took a photo of a different set of deer near the place we saw the doe and fawn today.

We share the blessing of practice with them and all beings.
